Anyone with an illness or disability can attend special Therapeutic Recreation courses being offered at the Colleton County Recreation Department.

The courses run through August and are open to any Colleton resident age 13 and up.

The programs use “recreation and leisure activities” to address the needs of people suffering from a disability and/or an illness, according to information provided by the recreation department.

Volunteers run this program at the local recreation department.

Each class costs $1 per night.

On Tuesdays, Pickleball is offered from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. All equipment is provided.

On Wednesdays, basketball is offered from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., and on Thursdays there are cardio classes offered from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. All equipment is provided for all classes, but participants are asked to wear proper running/walking shoes.
