An SUV flipped several times on Friday morning, sending an adult male to a local trauma center.

The crash occurred on Friday, Dec. 3rd on Jefferies Highway (U.S. Highway 15) near Moyer Lane. Several 911-emergency callers reported seeing an SUV alongside the highway. When firefighter-paramedics arrived, they found the SUV lying on its roof, according to Colleton County Fire-Rescue Director Barry McRoy. “The power pole held the school warning lights, which fell into the roadway,” said McRoy. “The cables blocked all four lanes of Jefferies Highway.”

The driver, who was wearing a seat belt, was still inside the car when rescue crews arrived. He suffered multiple injuries, including a head injury, said McRoy.

The man was treated at the scene and then flown to Trident Medical Center in North Charleston.

The S.C. Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
