Short jail stay accompanies pleas

A Walterboro woman was told she would spend six days in jail when she pled to two criminal charges in the November session of Colleton County General Sessions Court.
Domika Smith of Walterboro pled to charges of financial transaction card fraud and malicious injury to an animal or personal property.
After hearing the pleas, 14th Circuit Court Judge Carmen Mullen ordered her to spend six days of a one-year sentence on the financial transaction card fraud.
A second concurrent six-day stay in jail was ordered on the malicious injury charge.
She was also placed on concurrent two-year probations on the charges.
 Dwayne Wheat of Round O entered a plea on a charge of possession of methamphetamine and was given a suspended three-year prison term and placed on probation for one year.
 Jonathan Howell of Ruffin entered a plea on a charge of unlawful carrying of a pistol and, if he pays a $250 fine, will receive a suspended one-year prison term with credit for two days already served in custody.
 Patrick J. McLauchlin of Walterboro pled to a charge of possession of a drug and was given a suspended one-year jail term with time served credit for 30 days.
 John Lewellen of Walterboro pled to a charge of second-degree domestic violence and was given a three-year suspended sentence with a time served credit of 29 days.
 Jason Stevenson of Walterboro pled to a charge of third-degree domestic violence and was given a 90-day suspended sentence with a time served credit of 39 days.
 Thomas Acciaio of Ruffin pled to a charge of possession of drugs and was given a suspended two-year prison term with credit for time served.
 Jeremy Nixon of Walterboro pled to a charge of failure to stop for blue lights, was given a suspended one-year jail term with credit for time served.
 Dijon Bomar of Walterboro entered a plea to unlawful carrying of a pistol, was given a suspended one-year jail term and was placed on probation for six months.
 Bernard Varner of Walterboro pled to a charge of malicious injury to an animal or private property and was sentenced to time served, the 120 days he had spent in the detention center awaiting a hearing.
