Mrs. Shirley Mole Altman, 87, of Hampton, entered into eternal rest Sunday morning, September 4, 2022 at Hampton Regional Medical Center.  She was the widow of the late Don Altman, to whom she was married 57 years.

Born September 2, 1935 in Hampton, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Oddie Wyman Mole and Mildred Drawdy Mole.  Shirley retired from Palmetto Electric where she was the Hampton Office Manager.

A devout Christian, she was a lifetime member of Sandy Run Baptist Church.  She was a loyal member of the church choir, Sunday School teacher for many years, member of the Women’s Missionary Union, and was active in many other aspects of the church’s work. Shirley loved gardening and working with her flowers.  She enjoyed growing flowers of all kinds and was a member of the garden club in Hampton.  She cherished her family.  Her grandchildren were her pride and joy.  She also possessed extraordinary cooking skills and loved to cook for her family and friends.  Mrs. Shirley will always be remembered for her deep faith, her love for her family, her cooking, and for the love she shared with everyone she met.

Surviving are: her sons, Mark Altman and his wife Michelle of Hampton, Keith Altman and his wife Gina of Fairfax, and Byron Altman and his wife Christian of Walterboro; grandchildren, Risden, Reeves, Garrett, Miley, Abigail and Grayson; sister, Sylvia Freeman and her husband Wade of Hampton; brother, Don Mole and his wife Sara of Orangeburg; sister-in-law, Blanche Winstead of Hampton; brother-in-law, Terry Ulmer of Hampton; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Roland Mole.
