Several employees with the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office have been named Employee of the Quarter. Those who were recently chosen are for the third quarter of the year, which is for the months of July, August and September.

The Employee of the Quarter program was created by the sheriff’s office to honor and recognize outstanding employees. Those who are selected are typically nominated by their peers for outstanding work in their community and/or their respective departments.

The September employees who are being awarded are by the sheriff’s office are:

Lt. David Long, Cpl. James Brown, and Deputies Tim Black, Shakema Bennett, Benji Polston and Ricky Valentine.

Long and Brown are not pictured in this article.

“The CCSOs Employee of the Quarter Program recognizes division employees who display a high level of commitment to CCSOs vision, mission, and values,” said Colleton County Sheriff’s Office Spokeswoman Shalane Tindal. “The individuals nominated model behaviors such as a positive, professional attitude, respectful of policies and procedures, excellent job performance, helpful to co-workers, exhibits good communication and people skills, and a record of good attendance,” she said.

Colleton County Sheriff Buddy Hill created the program several years ago to represent members of the sheriff’s office in all departments. Hill said those chosen to be recognized during this quarter have “worked hard” and are “deserving.”

“This is a natural result of your outstanding efforts, which were duly recognized,” said Hill. “The Colleton Sheriff’s Office is fortunate to have members like you on our team.  I am so proud of all of you and wish you even more success in the future. Together we are making a difference; keep up the great work.”
