Playing their final home game of the year, the Colleton County Cougars were seeking a win against May River on senior night. The Sharks didn’t cooperate, defeating the Cougars 48-7 for their fourth straight loss.
May River scored 26 first quarter points and added 15 more in the second quarter to take a commanding 41-0 lead at halftime. The Sharks added an additional score in the third quarter to make the score 48-0. Colleton County would add a fourth quarter touchdown to the score to avoid the shut-out, making the final score 48-7. With the loss, the Cougars fall to 1-7 overall and 0-3 in the region.
The Cougars will be on the road next week as they travel to Mount Pleasant to take on Lucy Beckham High School. Kick-off is at 7:30.
