On October 21, 2024, Colleton County Middle School notified the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office of another threat written on school property that was found and reported by a student. The previous week, on October 16, 2024, the School District released a statement regarding a similar incident. The graffiti found October 21, 2024 suggested the occurrence of a school shooting on October 23, 2024. The incident is similar but unrelated to a threat written on a bathroom wall at Colleton County High School on October 7, 2024.
The origination of the graffiti remains under investigation, and any student involved may face criminal charges.
Additional CCSO personnel were at the schools as a precautions after the reports were made.
