Savage and Parker named CCABC Athletes of the Year

The Colleton County High School Athletic Booster Club (CCABC) recently announced its selection for male and female Athletes of the Year for 2019-20. Ashley Savage was named Female Athlete of the Year and Jermaine Parker was recognized as Male Athlete of the Year. To be selected, athletes must participate in multiple sports and meet academic requirements.

Savage was a three-sport athlete for the Lady Cougars, participating in softball, basketball and volleyball. She maintained a 4.6 GPA in high school and was a member of the National Honor Society. Her athletic honors include AAAA-Region VII All-Region (volleyball); AAAA-Region VII All-Region (basketball); Hustle Award and The Cougar Award.

Savage is the daughter of Hollace and Robbie Savage of Edisto Island. She is currently attending Winthrop University in Rock Hill where she is studying exercise science and plans to become an athletic trainer.

Parker, an outstanding Cougar student-athlete, inked a track and field scholarship to Columbia International University. There, he will compete in long jump for the Rams who participate in NAIA Division I in the Appalachian Athletic Conference.

Parker is the son of Angel Parker of Walterboro. He maintained a GPA of 4.03 in high school and is currently pursuing a degree in business management.
