Mr. Russell Wilton Hoff, affectionately known to everyone as “R.W.” or “Bill”, 92, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Sunday morning, November 7, 2021 at his residence.

Born February 28, 1929 in the Sheridan Township in Cottageville, he was a son of the late Thomas Russell Hoff and Minnie Gertrude Hoff.  He worked for Westvaco and retired after 42 years.  After retirement, he enjoyed working with Jimmy Blocker at J.G. Blocker Auction and Realty.  He enjoyed raising cattle and working on the family farm in Cottageville.  If you knew Mr. Bill, you knew of his strong work ethic and that he liked to do everything for himself.  He loved to tinker and could fix anything. 

Surviving are: his wife of 69 years, Ruth Bishop Hoff of Walterboro; daughter, Leverne Hoff Howard and her husband Luke of Mount Pleasant; grandchildren, Addison Howard and Caroline Howard, both of Denver, Colorado; sister, Clio Benton of Walterboro; and his beloved cat, Sammy.  He was preceded in death by his brothers, George Walter Hoff and Thomas Edward Hoff.

Funeral services will be held 2 o’clock, Sunday afternoon, November 14, 2021 at The Brice Herndon Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.  Interment will follow in Live Oak Cemetery, Jefferies Boulevard, Walterboro.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
