A missing 77-year-old Ruffin woman who disappeared Wednesday afternoon was found by Colleton County Sheriff’s Office deputies and SCDNR officers about 10 p.m.
Dorothy Belton, 77, suffers from dementia, and was last seen around 4 p.m. Wednesday. She left on foot from her residence on Belton Lane in Ruffin, and was last seen wearing green and white pajamas with grey house slippers.
Deputies and SCDNR officers searched on foot, in vehicles and ATVs, and with dogs for several hours before finding the woman just before 10 p.m. in a wooded area about a mile from her home.
