Ruffin community gets disaster boxes

Ruffin Community disaster supplies box distribution was a success at the BZS Community Center grounds in Ruffin recently.

A special thank you to co-sponsors Kingdom Keepers (Kim Memminger), D&R Landscaping, New Bethel 5 Pentecostal Holiness Inc., Keep Colleton Beautiful, Colleton County Fire Rescue Emergency Management Division and Hand-in-Hand Community Outreach.

“We had awesome, consistent and ready-to-work attendants onsite and I am so grateful for them setting the staging area, making the boxes, and serving each and every resident with love and care,” said Sirena Memminger, one of the organizers. They are: Mother Vivian McFadden, Mother Essie R. Bowles, Mother Alice Jackson, Mother Gloria Brown, Sis. Lillie Mae Bryant, Sis. Orzetta Rivers, Bro. John Stephens Jr., Bro. Roger Jackson, Bro. William McFadden, Bro. Joseph Washington Jr., Bro. Elijah Washington and Bro. Jeremiah Washington.

“HIHCO is grateful for every Ruffin resident that traveled near or far to receive the boxes of supplies. Having everyone there made all the difference,” she said.
