Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home

Rosalba Diaz was born in Tiquisate, Escuintla, Guatemala on July 9, 1965 and passed away in the afternoon of  October 1, 2021 in Charleston, South Carolina, USA.  She was 56 years old.

Born and raised in Guatemala, Rosalba immigrated to the United States in the 1990’s in order to provide for her four young daughters in Guatemala.  She met Hugo Diaz in Chicago, Illinois, through their same employer.  They dated, married, and had their youngest daughter, Linda, in 1999.  Both Rosalba and Hugo moved to Walterboro, South Carolina and lived there for 22 years.  She was an active member of St. Anthony Catholic Church where she received the Sacraments of Baptism, First Reconciliation, Communion, and Confirmation. Rosalba was also a devoted employee of Pioneer Boats.

She will be remembered as always being happy and outgoing, our family member who was the life of the party, who loved to sing, dance, and have a good time. She was kind, loving, and had a big heart. She was a humble, selfless, and generous individual who would help anyone in need. She was accepting of everyone, was strong-willed, and was always determined to persevere in life. She always fought hard, even until the end of her life. She touched many lives by the way she was: a positive, loving, and free-spirited individual.

Rosalba is survived by her beloved husband, Hugo Diaz, her daughters, Edna Carolina Perez Barahona, Jesse Beatriz Perez Barahona de Garcia (Oscar), Rosalba Marisol Perez Barahona (Jose Leonel), Ana Cristina Perez Barahona, and Linda Maria Diaz (Jerome). She had many grandchildren that she loved very much: William Alexis Malpica, Edna Sinai Malpica, Andrea Malpica, Jesse Garcia Perez, Liseth Garcia Perez, Ayleen Sandoval Perez, Grettel Sandoval Perez, Ashanty Jerez Perez, Jerome Habersham Jr.,Jade Habersham, Rose’lyn Habersham. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law and brother-in-law,  Lesbia and Jorge Ramirez, and her nieces and nephews who loved her very much:  Elisa Pinedo (Fernando), and Roxana Ramirez (Casey), Rafael Rocha, Mia Lawson, Nicolas Pinedo, and Izabella Lawson.
