Mr. Robert L. “Bobby” Robertson, husband of Frances Breland Robertson, passed away Thursday morning, August 26, 2021 at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro. He was 80.

Bobby was born July 4, 1941 a son of the late Cleon and Annie Mae Knowles Robertson.  He graduated from Bells High School in 1960. When drafted into the United State Army, he served faithfully as a Military Policeman, serving a tour of duty in the Dominican Republic.  After his military service, he was employed at the Charleston Navy Shipyard as a machinist marine.  He retired in 1995 after thirty years of dedicated service.  Bobby was a lifelong member of Ruffin Baptist Church, and served many years as a Deacon.  In earlier years, he was an active member of the Ruffin Volunteer Fire Department.  

In addition to his wife of 47 years, he is survived by his daughter Nicole R. Cain (Billy) of Ruffin, and by his grandchildren Will, Ben and Breland Cain.  He has two sisters, Betty Ann Kain of Ladson and Carol Broach (James) of Mount Pleasant.  There is  a host of nieces, nephews and extended family. 

Graveside funeral services will be held Monday morning, August 30, 2021 at 10:00 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Walterboro.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery, and in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ruffin Baptist Church.  Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
