Robert E. “Bob” Eastham passed away Thursday, December 2, 2021 at the Veterans Victory House in Walterboro.  He was 64.

Bob was born in Gary, IN February 27, 1957 a son of the late Kay Lee Eastham and Dorothy Lillian Gutkee Eastham.  He entered the military after graduating from Poplar Bluff High School in 1975, and served in the United States Navy for twenty years.  He was a veteran of both “Operation Desert Shield” and “Operation Desert Storm”.  Bob was stationed out of Norfolk, VA, Great Lakes (Waukegan)IL, and Pascagoula, MS. He ended his career in the Navy as Chief Gas Turbine Engineer in Jacksonville, Florida.  After his service, he worked for ten years with General Electric as a gas turbine engineer.  He was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, the Florida Gators, and NASCAR.  

Bob is survived by three sons: Robert E. Eastham Jr. (Amy), and Richard L. Eastham of West Allis, WI, and Kyle M. Eastham of Bluffton, SC.  There are five grandchildren:  Robert III, Richard, Brett, Emily, and Catelyn Eastham.  He leaves behind five siblings:  Patrick Reilly (Debbie) of Chicago, IL, Edward Eastham and Sonny Dale Eastham of Brooksville, FL, and Kenny Eastham (Christie) and Rebecca Fears (Kevin) of Poplar Bluff, MO.  He has nine nieces and nephews.  

Mr. Eastham will be laid to rest, with full military honors, at the National Cemetery in the near future.  Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street, Walterboro, SC, is assisting the family with arrangements.
