An adult man received life-threatening injuries in a single-vehicle accident that occurred on Monday, Oct. 11th along Ritter Road. The accident occurred when a truck dropped off of the shoulder and the driver over-corrected, causing the small truck to spin backwards and strike a tree, according to Colleton County Fire-Rescue Director Barry McRoy.
The driver was ejected: he was found in a nearby ditch. The man was treated at the scene by Firefighter-Paramedics, then transported emergent to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston.
The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
