Ritter Road accident

A Hendersonville man died in a single vehicle MVC in the 1600 block of Ritter Road, east of White Hall Road, Wednesday evening, 08-March. The accident was reported at 19:48. A westbound minivan, crossed into the eastbound ditch, striking a large pine tree. The Honda Odyssey van suffered extensive damage and the driver was trapped in the wreckage. Firefighter-Paramedics arrived to find the van upright partially in the roadway. Most of the driver’s side of the van had been torn from the vehicle. Debris littered the scene. The driver was determined to be deceased and the Coroner’s Office was requested. County Coroner Richard Harvey responded to the scene. Firefighters used Holmatro Rescue tools to extricate the man from the wreckage. The Coroner’s Office transported him. Ritter Road in the area of the accident was closed for three hours while the SC Highway Patrol investigated the collision.
