Rice Run/Walk 5K 2022 course is ready

The annual Rice Run/Walk 5K course has been measured and is ready for the scheduled race on April 30th at 8:00 a.m. in Walterboro.

Measured for certification by Mike Chodnicki of the Road Running Technical Council from the USA Track & Field committee on March 15, 2022, the course covers exactly five kilometers, or 3.107 miles.

The race will begin on Klein St, even with power pole #641389 and 5 feet north of phone/cable box, both located at the northwest corner of the intersection with Washington St. The race will continue on the Sanctuary Trail, Dowling St., Klein St. intersection with Heirs St., and finish on Klein St. even with the power pole, both located at the northwest comer of intersection with Washington St. All points are marked by nails with washers and paint.

Based on examination, the course was certified as accurate in measurement according to the standards adopted by the Road Running Technical Council.
