Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home

Restin Dane Drawdy, formerly of Walterboro, passed away tragically, along with his husband Luke William Joiner Drawdy, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident Tuesday evening, November 23, 2021 in Charlotte.  They were returning home from dinner when their vehicle was struck by an impaired driver.  He was 35.

Restin was born in Walterboro August 15, 1986 a son of Mona Lisa Hiers Drawdy and Laurie Eugene Drawdy Jr.  He graduated from Walterboro High School, and later attended Charleston Southern University, before receiving a degree in Business Management from Strayer University.  Restin made Charlotte his home in 2011 where he met Luke…the “love of his life”.  They were legally married in 2015, and were inseparable since that time, traveling the world together, and sharing an unmatched zest for life.  They enjoyed skydiving, cruising, and mountain biking.  They had just recently returned from a trip to Mexico, where they were enthralled with the ancient Aztec ruins there.

Restin was the Principal Engineer of National Transport for Verizon, and was a personal trainer.  Although tragic…avoidable…and totally unnecessary…the family is consoled by the fact that they died as they lived…together.

In Addition to his parents, Restin is survived by four brothers:  Laurie Eugene “Gene” Drawdy III (Laura), Rooke B. Drawdy (Kerrin), Taylor M. Drawdy (Brittany) and Dalton Drawdy (Ashli).  There are a host of loving nieces, nephews and cousins as well.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday evening, December 1, 2021 at 6:00 in the Chapel of Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street, Walterboro, SC  29488.  The family will receive friends during a time of visitation following the service until 8:00 PM.   Committal services will be held privately.
