A Walterboro man is in custody after authorities seized more than 1,000 grams of cocaine and multiple other drugs, weapons, and cash.

The arrest began with a traffic stop that was conducted on August 17th, when a Colleton County Sheriff’s Office deputy stopped a black Cadillac: the driver of that vehicle made an improper turn from the exit ramp of Interstate 95 onto Bells Highway in Colleton, according to a press release issued by the sheriff’s office. The driver of that vehicle was the only person in the car.  While on scene at the traffic stop, the arresting deputy learned that the suspect’s license had been suspended. The suspect was then arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license, third offense, or greater, according to information provided by the sheriff’s office.

While searching his vehicle, the arresting officer found an Under Armour bag behind the passenger seat on the floorboard. Inside that bag was a multiple of drugs, guns, and cash.

Specifically, the deputy seized a Glock handgun; 104 grams of crack cocaine; 1,051 grams of cocaine; 13 grams of heroin; 91 pills of Ecstasy; 87 pills of hydrocodone; and 184 grams of meth.

The drugs, cash, and weapons were seized and taken into evidence.

The sheriff’s office obtained a search warrant for the suspect’s Walterboro residence.

During that search warrant, deputies also found cocaine and stolen goods.

The suspect is charged with Driving Under Suspension, 3rd offense; trafficking cocaine, greater than 400 grams or more; trafficking cocaine, greater than 10 grams but less than 28 grams; the unlawful carrying of a handgun, receiving stolen goods; possession of a weapon during a violent crime; two counts of possession with intent to distribute Schedule I narcotics; trafficking methamphetamines, more than 100 grams; trafficking heroin; and trafficking crack cocaine, more than 100 grams but less than 200 grams.

Since this case is active, no other details are available at this time.
