Pure Theatre brings Septima to the Civic Center

Pure Theatre brought “Septima”, a play celebrating the life and work of Civil Rights leader, South Carolina resident, and educator Septima P. Clark in Walterboro. The nationally touring play, told through monologues, stories and music was brought to the Colleton Civic Center on Feb. 27th for 2 free performances. 400 children, from local schools, filled the seats for the morning show and the 6pm evening show thrilled the audience. The play was directed by Sharon Graci, Director of Septima, Co-founder and Artistic Director of PURE Theatre. The cast included; Zania Cummings as Septima Clark and featured an ensemble of other actors including Keith Alston, Sonja Reed, Michele Powe, Josh Wilhoit, and Michael Smallwood.
