PRTC named Best Place to Work

For two consecutive years, Palmetto Rural Telephone Cooperative (PRTC) has been named one of the Best Places to Work in South Carolina. PRTC policy is to uphold the tenets of good health, well-being and employee safety in the workplace, and this policy has been passed along to customers during the coronavirus pandemic.

PRTC is among only 74 companies recognized for the award this year statewide.

“Best Places to Work in South Carolina has set a long-established standard for excellence in the workplace all across the state,” said PRTC CEO, Jason Dandridge. “We were honored last year to have been chosen from among so many worthy contenders, but to win it two years in a row is a testament to our employees and their commitment to quality and excellence in the workplace.

“Thank you to the Best Places organization for this recognition two years in a row and know that PRTC will always strive to meet those standards of excellence every year going forward.”

The Best Places annual survey-and-awards program consists of a partnership between S.C. Biz News and the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce and Best Companies Group.

Now in its 15th year, Best Places to Work was designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best employers in the state of South Carolina. These qualities benefit the state's economy, workforce, and businesses.

Companies from across the state entered the two-part survey process to determine the Best Places to Work in South Carolina.

The first part consisted of evaluating PRTC’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the PRTC employee’s experience. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking.

PRTC will be recognized at a virtual awards ceremony on August 21.

The rankings will be published in the August 2020 issue of SCBIZ magazine. All Best Places to Work in South Carolina honorees will be profiled in a special section of that issue.
