Mrs. Annie Mae Kinard Priester, 89, of Smoaks, entered into eternal rest Monday evening, January 27, 2025, at Colleton Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Robert Priester to whom she was married 49 years. Born September 1, 1935, in Williams, she was a daughter of the late George Kinard and Katie Frederickson Kinard Lyons. She had worked at Smoaks Manufacturing and Dayco, but for many years, worked alongside her husband for their logging company, Ashepoo Logging and Lowcountry Logging. Mrs. Annie Mae loved fishing in the Ashepoo River, enjoyed going on mountain and beach trips, and especially loved dancing and going on golf cart rides. Most of all, she loved her family, always centering her life around them. After the death of her daughter, Lynn, Mrs. Annie Mae raised her granddaughter, Cristy. Surviving are: her children, Sherry Strickland and her husband Allen of Smoaks, and Wayne Priester and his wife Helen of Ruffin; grandchildren, Julie Strickland Riley and her husband Robert, Cristy Priester Smith and her husband Billy Ray, David “Jabo” Priester and his wife Bonnie, Angela Strickland Maxey and her husband Wes, and Michael Priester and his wife Brittany; great grandchildren, Amber Priester, Lydia Riley, Ansley Riley, Aden Willis, Emma Priester, Paisley Priester, Ella Priester, Wrenley Maxey, and Brynlee Priester; sister, Linda Warren of Smoaks; brother, Larry Lyons of Texas; many nieces and nephews; and her caretakers who helped take great care of her, Sarah “Weezie” Padgett and Rebecca “Becky” Hart. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy Lynn Priester Ferguson; and her siblings, Laverne K. Lyons, James A. Kinard, George Kinard, Jr., Timothy W. Lyons, and Susan L. Stanfield. Graveside funeral services were held 3 o’clock, Thursday afternoon, January 30, 2025, at Glendale Memorial Cemetery, Walterboro. Arrangements By: The Brice W.
