A high-speed accident sent one man to a Trauma Center Friday evening July 26th. The Honda was traveling south on Possum Corner Road, left the road, and struck several trees on the northbound side of the highway. Two volunteer firefighters who were returning home drove up on the accident. The heavily damaged white Honda Accord was in the middle of the roadway. The unconscious driver was the only occupant of the vehicle and regained consciousness just prior to the ambulance arriving. He was treated and transported by Colleton County Firefighter-Paramedics to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston suffering from multiple traumatic injuries. The roadway was blocked for a little over an hour. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
