Police/Deputies modify response to non-emergencies

Posted

For the safety of everyone involved, the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office and Walterboro Police Department have modified how they are responding to non-emergency calls.
The sheriff’s office and police department remain fully staffed, but deputies/police are responding by telephone to non-emergency calls (thefts, vandalism, etc.) Incident reports and investigations are still being conducted.
Deputies/police are also continuing to check residences, business, places of worship and responding to emergencies.
The both offices are closed to the public. Citizens needing to obtain an incident report from the sheriff’s office should email report@colletoncounty.org. Responses will be sent during regular business hours.
For all non-emergencies or questions, call 843-549-2211. For all emergencies, call 911.
