Dan Polling is the P.E.P. Club’s (senior club) oldest member and he turned 99 on September 17. Dan has been in the P.E.P. Club for over 30 years. He is a widower now and lives in Round O with his dog Bo. He has no health issues and is on no medication. He still drives but is selective about where he drives. He is very fortunate to have good neighbors and friends Kenny and Brenda Blyth who are just a phone call away should he need anything.

Dan loves the Lord, he loves his family, he loves his friends, and he loves to play poker. He was in the Navy for over 20 years and he served in Anzio Beach in Italy as a gunner on the Missouri. He came out of the military as E6. As a young man in the Navy he would be out on a ship in the ocean for months at the time, so he spent a lot of time watching the officers play poker. He learned a lot from that as he now plays poker every month with his poker buddies in an alcohol free, smoke free environment and they will all tell you he is the best. Dan just chuckles and says, ‘’That’s how I make my spending money’’.

Everyone that knows Dan will tell you, ‘’he is truly an officer and gentleman”.

The P.E.P. Club is a senior club that meets the last Tuesday of the month at the Recreation Center in the industrial Area at 12:00. For information call club president Norma Weeks at 843-538-8950.
