Orangeburg Prep captured the championship in the 2021 CPA Holiday Basketball Tournament after defeating Hilton Head Christian 49-47.
Earlier in the tournament, Orangeburg Prep defeated Beaufort Academy (69-61) and Thomas Heyward Academy (58-41) to advance undefeated across the six-team bracket.
The War Hawks lost to Thomas Heyward Academy 58-28 in game three, held on Tuesday, December 28. Moving into the loser’s bracket, they fell to Beaufort Academy 72-24 on Thursday, December 30.
Against Thomas Heyward, the War Hawks were led by Maddox Brewster and Jeb Crews with 6 points each. Other scoring included Will Brady 5, Collin Hiers 5, Braeden Hiers 4, and Bryce Kinard 2.
Braeden Hiers led Colleton Prep with 9 points in the loss to Beaufort Academy. Other scoring included West Brown 8, Jeb Crews 4, Will Brady 2, and Raleigh Obenaus 1.
Colleton Prep (0-10) opened SCISA Region IV-AA competition on Tuesday, January 4 against Hilton Head Christian on the road. They will host Thomas Heyward Academy on Friday, January 7.
