The 9th Annual Walk & Wag sponsored by Friends of Colleton County Animal Shelter (FoCCAS) was on Saturday, Nov. 19, in the parking lot next to Walterboro Wildlife Center. This was a fundraising and community service-minded event for visitors of all ages.

Colleton County Animal Services (CCAS) also conducted its first free “Return To Home” microchip clinic. FoCCAS was able to raise funds exceeding $15, 000 for the animals of Colleton, and over 60 animals were microchipped.

Visitors had the opportunity to bring their dogs and cats to the clinic to be scanned or microchipped for free. Each microchip was inserted by trained CCAS staff. The family event also included visiting vendors, food, music, raffles with prizes, photo ops, and a dog walk.

Special thanks to all event sponsors: the City of Walterboro, Olde House Cafe’ for the chicken bog and hotdogs, Starbucks of Walterboro for the coffee and puppuccions, Heather Lynn Designs for the photo frames and centerpieces, all the raffle donors and all the volunteers, shelter staff and FoCCAS board members.
