Free Pfizer, Moderna, Janssen/J&J and Booster vaccines will be given on Monday, October 11, and Saturday, October 23 between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. in the Walterboro City Parking Lot on Washington and Hampton Street.

No pre-registration is required, and vaccines will be given on a first come, first served basis.

These vaccines are for ages 12 and up.

This event is sponsored by the City of Walterboro, the Walterboro Police Department, and the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) as part of a Colleton Vaccine Clinic. The free vaccines are an initiative to get shots into the arms of Colleton County citizens and those most vulnerable to the virus throughout the community.

The strategy is to have planned vaccination events to increase equitable access to Covid-19 vaccinations in the rural and underserved areas throughout the state. It is also an initiative to decrease hospitalizations and deaths in the county.

According to NCNW officials, their mission is to “secure the health and well-being of all people.”

The National Council of Negro Women is an “organization of organizations” (comprised of 300 campus and community-based sections and 32 national women’s organizations) that enlightens, inspires and connects more than 2,000,000 women and men.  Its mission is to lead, advocate for, and empower women of African descent, their families and communities. NCNW was founded in 1935.
