The NAACP held the “Women In The NAACP Brunch” Saturday, March 22 at Colleton County Middle School. The Mistress of Ceremonies, Antoinette Kinsey opened the brunch. Jourdan Kinsey, the Youth and College Division Advisor, presented the purpose and welcome to the attendees. The South Carolina House Representative the Honorable Michael Rivers, Colleton County Councilman Phillip Taylor, NAACP South Carolina State Conference President Brenda Murphy and NAACP Colleton County Branch President Edward Williams each greeted the audience. The keynote speakers brother John Givins, Jr. introduced his brother, Lynwood F Givens who delighted the audience with his speech. The Group then presented its Ovington-Wells Honorees to Dr. Cordelia Jenkins and Mrs. Minthelee Stephens. They also honored their High School Scholarship Recipients Jaheim McCormick, Kater Stephens and Da’Veon Varner.
