Mr. Robert (Robbie) Wayne Murdaugh, Jr., passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at the age of 55. Born March 19, 1970, in Walterboro, South Carolina, he was the son of Lou and Jimmy Blocker and the late Robert Wayne Murdaugh. He was affectionately known as “Poppy” to his grandchildren who were the center of his world. He was a passionate Clemson football fan and known to spar with his rival Gamecock friends. He was known for his larger-than-life personality, never met a stranger, and loved to poke fun with those he loved most. Work or play you would always find him accompanied by his beloved yellow lab, Tuff. Robbie was married to the love of his life, Angela Craven Murdaugh, for 24 years. Robbie was known for his love of family and friends and was a devoted member of Welch Creek Baptist Church. He was the owner/operator of the trucking company, RM Enterprises. He was a 1988 graduate of John C Calhoun Academy where he excelled in football and baseball. He served in the Army National Guard for 8 years. Due to his love and admiration for his stepfather, Jimmy, Robbie attended Missouri Auction School in Kansas City, earning his auctioneers diploma and was licensed in the state of South Carolina. He was a life-long outdoorsman, but his passion for hunting later shifted to fishing. Being on the Edisto River was his happy place and he loved to share that experience with his grandsons as often as he could. He enjoyed his HWR Thursday Afternoon ACE Basin Bass Tournament group and swapping fishing tales with his friends. In addition to his wife, mother, and step-father, Robbie is survived by: his daughter, Brandi (Victor) Johnson of Walterboro; two sons, Tyler (Brittany) Crosby of Walterboro and Chandler (Taylor) Crosby of Walterboro; grandchildren, Michael, Landen, Asher, and Alaina Johnson, Emma and Blake Crosby, and Graycen and Greer Crosby; a sister, Gwen (Dowl) Knight of Leesville; step-brothers, Billy (Tina) Blocker of Walterboro and Roger Blocker of Rock Hill, North Carolina; his mother-in-law, Irene Craven of Walterboro; sister-in-law, Alison (Allen) Stanfield of Meggett; brother-in-law, Andy (Lisa) Craven of Walterboro; nieces, Alyssa (Parker) Smith, Julia (Josh) Kinard, Emery and Hollis Stanfield; nephew, Dalton (Rebecca) Craven; and great nieces, Addison Smith, Brayleigh Thomas, Kinleigh and Aubrey Craven.
