An adult male received critical injuries after he crashed a moped in the ditch in the 3500 block of Charleston Highway (S.C. Hwy. 64) Tuesday evening November 17 at 6:16 p.m.
A passerby noticed the man and the moped in the ditch on the dark stretch of rural highway and notified 9-1-1. The first unit arrived to find the man with multiple traumatic injuries and a head injury. Firefighter-paramedics treated the man at the scene, then transported him to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston.
The S.C. Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
