Missing North Carolina man found dead in Colleton

On Thursday, Nov. 17, a North Carolina man, Braedan Rose, 25, of Avery County in Newland, N.C., was found dead in the Ruffin area around noon. The man was reported missing to North Carolina authorities on Friday, Oct 14.

North Carolina authorities were told the man battled with drug addiction and had known mental health issues. North Carolina authorities began investigating his disappearance.

On Wednesday, Nov. 16, North Carolina authorities learned the South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) towed Rose’s vehicle after finding it abandoned around 8 p.m. on U.S. Highway 21 on Thursday, Oct 6.

South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) was contacted for further assistance. Per SLED’s request, the Colleton Sheriff’s Office conducted a search warrant on the car and found no evidence of foul play. An autopsy is scheduled to determine the final cause of the man’s death.
