More than 300 women came together last week for the Martinis and Me fundraiser, which raised nearly $10,000 for the Colleton County Arts Council.

Martinis and Me used to be an annual social event and fundraiser for the arts council. However, the event has been paused for the last two years because of COVID-19. This year, the event came back in full blast, with the May 17th event ranking as the top fundraiser for the arts council. “Martinis & Me has always been one of the top ladies’ events of Colleton County for many years and this year’s event was nothing less!” said Colleton County Arts Council Director Heather Larson.

All money raised from the Martinis and Me fundraiser will fund the Colleton Children’s Theater, summer arts classes for Colleton kids and special arts classes for the county’s veterans.

The actual event is a fashion show and a vendor fair. “We had local boutiques participate in the fashion show with the hottest trends straight off the runway,” Larson said.

“We are extremely thankful to everyone that had a hand in making it such a success.”

The Colleton County Arts Council would like to thank the Colleton County Arts Council board members, Blue Benton, Becki Crosby, April Willis, Tina Mole and Heather Larson.

The arts council also wants to thank BA Rhodes and her team with Sparkles, Events, Decor and Design, Dragon Entertainment, Two Pour Girls Bartending, and Fit Eats by Tina.

“Our goal is to continue to bring everyone together through arts, music and theater. Please check our Facebook for future camps, classes and events,” said Larson.

Future Colleton County Arts Council events include a Summer Cactus Painting Class at 10 a.m. on May 31st at the Colleton County Arts Council office and a Girly Beach Totes Class at 10 a.m. on June 2nd.
