Colleton Prep’s Becca Martin threw a perfect game against Beaufort Academy in a 15-0-win at home on April 26. Martin threw four perfect innings, allowing no hits or runs, striking out six and walking none. With the win, the Lady Hawks secured the SCISA Region IV-AA Championship, finishing 6-0 in conference play, and they are 11-2 overall.

Ava Murray went 2-3 with an RBI at the plate to lead the Lady Hawks on offense. Linley Jones, Taylor Tomedolskey, Sidney Bailey, Mackenzie Pellum, and Haley Bootle each recorded a hit.

The Lady Hawks traveled to Bamberg-Ehrhardt for a non-conference game Thursday April 28 and would fall 7-0 against the Red Raiders. Haley Bootle took the loss for the Lady Hawks, surrendering seven runs on 11 hits over six innings, striking out four.

Riley Johnson led Bamberg-Ehrhardt to victory in the circle across seven innings, allowing no runs on two hits, striking out 13 and walking one. The Lady Hawks only offense came from Jones and Bailey who each recorded a hit in the game.

Colleton Prep was scheduled to host Cross High School on May 3. The reigning AA State Champions will begin post-season play in the SCISA State Tournament May 13-14 in Sumter.

“Our goal is to make the final four and see what happens,” said Coach Tiger Martin. “We can play with anyone. My concern is we have not put teams away like I hoped. We continue to let teams hang around and one of those games may trip us up. With that being said, our bats are warming up and our goal is to get some games in versus quality pitching before playoffs begin.”
