Brice Herndon Funeral Chapel and Crematory
Marie Rahn Hiers, 83, of Walterboro, entered into rest Wednesday afternoon, January 20, 2021, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.
Born May 8, 1937, Colleton County, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Dewey Carter and the late Ola Drawdy Carter. She was a devoted homemaker who centered her life around her family and took a special joy in her grandchildren. She enjoyed music, especially piano and singing.
Surviving are: her husband of forty-two years, Mr. Henry Alton Hiers, Sr.; three sons, Marvin Rahn of Walterboro, Darren Rahn of Idaho, and Dale Rahn of Massachusetts; a daughter, Janice Wiggins of Walterboro; twelve grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Christine Rahn Hiott; a grandson, Trevor Hiott; two brothers, Thomas Lee Carter and Mondell Carter; and a sister, Faye Riley.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 o’clock Monday morning, January 25, 2021, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Entombment will follow in Glendale Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.
