The Colleton County Sheriff’s Office reports that murder suspect, Clint Crosby, has been located and is now in custody in Louisiana. He is awaiting extradition back to Colleton County.
The arrest is in reference to an altercation that took place on January 30th. Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 911 call and found the shooting victim unconscious in the yard at a residence on Dover Bluff Lane. Deputies initiated medical treatment until Colleton County Firefighter-Paramedics arrived on the scene. A medical helicopter was requested but canceled after the patient went into cardiac arrest. He was transported to Colleton Medical Center with three additional Firefighter-Paramedics onboard to assist with his care. Despite the efforts of the Emergency Department staff, the man died of his injuries.
Witnesses say the shooting followed an argument between the victim and another man who they say fled the scene.
In their press release the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office thanked the public for the numerous tips received that resulted in the apprehension of the suspect.
The Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the incident.
