A man trying to navigate a flooded road on Cardinal Lane in Cottageville sunk his car on Feb. 14.
The man’s brother called 911 to report his brother called him and said his car was taking on water. When he lost contact with him, the brother called for help.
About 15 minutes after help arrived, the man called his brother to tell him he was walking on Cardinal Lane toward Augusta Highway, traveling in chest-deep water. Colleton Fire-Rescue personnel found the man and helped him to the waiting ambulance.
The man was not injured. His car, however, has yet to be accessed.
