An adult man was seriously injured in a single-car, high-speed wreck on Sizemore Road at Hopewell Lane on Wednesday Dec. 2 at 8:04 p.m.
The westbound Infiniti sedan left the roadway, crossed the ditch and entered the woods, flipping over several times before striking several trees. The unrestrained driver received multiple traumatic injuries in the crash.
Firefighter-paramedics quickly freed the man from the vehicle, which was about 50 feet into the woods. Crews requested a medical helicopter and a landing zone was set up in a field off Silkhope Lane about 1/2 mile from the accident scene. The Air Reach helicopter flew the patient to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston.
The S.C. Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
