An adult male was transported to Colleton Medical Center with multiple traumatic injuries following a two-car wreck in the 400 block of Ivenia Brown Drive in Green Pond on Saturday night at about 11:30.
A Dodge Journey was traveling eastbound on Ivenia Brown Drive when a Ford Ranger pickup truck backed out of a driveway into its path, resulting in heavy damage to both vehicles.
The Dodge left the roadway and flipped over at least once. The driver of the Ford was trapped in his vehicle.
Firefighter-paramedics stationed in Green Pond arrived minutes later and requested a rescue unit.
They began treating the injured.
Once they arrived, rescue crews used tools to gain access to the patient. He was immobilized, then transported to Colleton Medical Center by ambulance.
The driver of the Dodge was able to get out of his vehicle and advised he had minor injuries, denying ambulance transportation to the hospital.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
