Mrs. Mabel Bearden Crosby, 84, entered into rest Thursday morning, March 19, 2020, at the Saint George Health Care Center. She was the loving wife of the late Mr. William Edwin Crosby, Sr.
Born May 26, 1935, in Birmingham, Alabama, she was a daughter of the late Alvin Bearden and the late Edgie Lee Spencer Bearden. She retired from Smoaks Manufacturing and was a member of Marion Baptist Church in Williams. She will always be remembered for her love of flowers and her garden as well as her Chihuahug pups. She enjoyed shopping but her great joy in life was her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are: two daughters, Polly Ann McMillan of Ruffin and Betty Jean Benton of Ruffin; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, William Edwin Crosby, Jr. and a son-in-law, Ray McMillan.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 o’clock Monday afternoon, March 23, 2020, from the graveside at Little Swamp United Methodist Churchyard, Hunters Chapel Road, Smoaks.
The family will receive friends during a time of visitation this Sunday from 5 o’clock until 7 o’clock at the funeral home.
