The Colleton County Sheriff's Office is hosting a spaghetti benefit luncheon to help one of its own in a fight against cancer.

Sgt. Christy Worley is a deputy with the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office and has been with the agency since 2004. She has been diagnosed with cancer.

To help her pay for medical costs and for the loss of income while she fights the disease, the sheriff’s office is hosting a community-wide benefit luncheon.

All proceeds from this event will aid Worley.

The spaghetti luncheon is open to anyone and will take place in the Colleton Sheriff's Office Training Room from 12 pm - 2 pm on Tuesday, February 22.

Lunch will consist of homemade spaghetti, rolls, salad, dessert, and a drink for $10. “The lunch will be a walk-thru line, and to-go plates will be made available for those who can't stay to eat,” said Shalane Lowes, spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office. “Sgt. Worley can use our prayers and continued support during this challenging time. In advance, thank you for supporting one of our hometown heroes.”

All plates must be purchased in advance and no later than Thursday, February 17.

Anyone wanting to buy a dinner should contact Lowes at slowes@colletoncounty.org.
