Local boat ramps

With warmer weather promising to show up soon, Colleton residents are reminded of the county’s long list of public boat ramps.

These ramps are listed by the S.C. Department of Natural Resources and are monitored by both the state wildlife agency and the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office.

None of these boat ramps have fishing piers for public use.

The list of public ramps include:

Brickyard Ferry, on the Ashepoo River;

Live Oak, on Big Bay Creek;

Bennetts Point, on Mosquito Creek;

Prices Bridge, on Horseshoe Creek;

Chessie, on Folly Creek;

West Bank, on the Edisto River;

Lowndes, on the Edisto River;

Sullivan Ferry, on the Edisto River;

Long Creek, on the Edisto River;

Good Hope, along the Edisto River;

Fields Point, on the Combahee River;

Old Chehaw, on the Chehaw River;

And a Public Boat Landing on the Combahee River.
