A 20 x 30 block storage building was damaged in an afternoon fire during a thunderstorm Thursday afternoon, Aug. 20, at 5:55 p.m.

The resident called 9-1-1 to report that lightning had struck the building and it was ablaze.

Firefighters stationed one-half mile away arrived minutes later to find heavy smoke coming from the one-story block structure.
