Thanks for
remembering a veteran
Dear Editor:
I was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corp in 1971, during a time when we got very little appreciation for serving overseas and protecting the United States of America.
A few weeks ago, I met a gentleman who happened to be shopping at the same store that I was shopping in. We never met before. This gentleman found out that I was a veteran and to my surprise, he expressed his appreciation for my serving our great country in a way that made me speechless.
Mr. Chip Upchurch, we may never meet again, but I will always remember the kindness and the generosity you showed toward me. Thank you for blessing a veteran you didn’t know. Thank you for having a caring heart.
There are good citizens in Walterboro.
