Letter to the Editor

I am writing to express our heartfelt appreciation to the Coastal Community Foundation Colleton Fund and Beaufort Fund for their generous support of our programs at Community Innovations. Their contributions have been instrumental in enhancing our community’s well-being and fostering growth across various age groups.

Our “Colleton Voice” program offers a nurturing environment where children with a passion for singing can share their talents, guided by adult mentors. This initiative helps boost their self-esteem, bridges generational gaps, and encourages community participation.

The “Literary Tea with Local Authors” brings together local authors in a formal setting, inspiring our community through literacy. This program not only enhances writing skills but also promotes literacy among children, teens, and adults. It provides an opportunity for local writers to connect with the community and foster a love for reading and writing.

Additionally, we deeply appreciate them supporting the Young Authors Literary program, which encourages writing and storytelling skills with the hopes of becoming a published author. This initiative inspires aspiring writers to hone their craft and pursue their dreams of publication.

Lastly, “Christmas with Seniors” is dedicated to improving the mental and emotional well-being of our senior citizens through engaging sessions filled with singing and storytelling. This program aims to uplift their spirits and promote mental health wellness during the holiday season.

We are incredibly grateful for the Coastal Community Foundation Colleton Fund and Beaufort Fund’s commitment to supporting these vital programs. Their generosity is making a significant difference in the lives of children, teens, and adults in our community.

A special thank you to Amy Page, Program Officer of the Southern Lowcountry, who shares her wisdom and networking skills to help us reach the community. Her invaluable support has been key to our success.

Thank you for taking the time to share this message of gratitude with your readers.

Sincerely,

Shiela Keaise Executive Director Community Innovations www.ciciolleton.org
