Lea Marie Cook

Brice Herndon Funeral Home

Ms. Lea Marie Cook, age 49, of Ruffin, entered into rest alongside her beloved companion, Chad Belue, tragically Sunday evening, December 26, 2021, from injuries sustained during an accident in West Ashley while the couple was riding their motorcycle.

Born February 5, 1972, in Marion County, South Carolina, she was the daughter of James Allan Cook and the late Debra Stroud Cook.  After obtaining her degree in Radiologic Technology, she began as a X-Ray Technician at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.   Lea possessed one of the world’s most beautiful smiles that was shadowed by an even more beautiful spirit.  She knew Christ as her Savior and was raised in the family’s longtime church, Doctor’s Creek Baptist Church in Walterboro.    Her heart was kind and loving.  She never met a stranger and was always doing for others.  Her very charismatic spirit and outgoing personality will forever be remembered in the hearts of the countless friends whom she loved dearly.

Surviving in addition to her father are: a son, Jesse-Allen Rapue of Ruffin; a brother, James “Bubba” Cook of Ruffin and his three children, Blake, Christopher, and Tia Cook; and her half siblings, Sheena and Bradley.  Lea is also survived by a host of loving cousins and extended family members as well as Chad’s children, siblings, and family.

A Celebration of Life for Lea and Chad will be held Monday, January 3, 2022, where their families will receive friends from 5 o’clock until 8 o’clock at THE BRICE W. HERNDON AND SONS FUNERAL HOMES AND CREMATORY, WALTERBORO CHAPEL, 1193 Bells Highway, Walterboro, 843.538.5408 Visit the registry online at: www.briceherndonfuneralhome.com
