Mother Nadine Buckner Lawson was born on October 12, 1932 to the late Peter and Sallie Mears in Islandton, SC. She transitioned to her Heavenly home on October 22, 2024 surrounded by family, in her daughter’s residence. She spent most of her life in Islandton where she met and married Mr. Harold Buckner, who preceded her in death. GOD blessed this union with four beautiful children. Nadine later married Burgess Lawson, who has also preceded her in death also. Mother Nadine Buckner Lawson was a fashionista and was known for her clothing boutique Fad-N-Fashion in Walterboro, SC and often zooming through town in that Jaquar. Mother Lawson was a prayer warrior all her life and was always known for being the one to call to get a prayer through. She really really loved and prided on the fact that all four of her children were ministers and loves GOD and you would always hear her praising and worshiping no matter the time or location. Rearing her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren in Christ was her goal and her prayer. Mother Lawson was a member of Bethel #5 in Ruffin, SC until she allowed her front yard and storefront to become the beginning stages of Walterboro Christian Center, where she was an active member, the church mother, grandmother, intercessor, teacher and the list goes on. One thing for sure she was respected not only in her church but in the community, as everyone knows MRS. NADINE. She would be preaching and praying, wherever she saw you. Mother Lawson was known to be wearing her High Heels and high stepping downtown or in church dancing. She wore many hats but being a grandmother, we think had to be one of her favorites as she always seemed to know how to cater to each grand, great grand and great great grand wants. She was known to her children as mom and momma, but known to her grands as Grandma, Nana, Granny and Mrs. Nadine. We will all miss her spunky attitude, the need to doctor all the family, but most of all the encouraging talks and phone calls because during her prayer time she knew EXACTLY what we were dealing with without physically saying a word. GOD has truly favored and honored Mrs. Nadine and granted the promise 92 years of great life. She was preceded in death by her eldest daughter Viletta Buckner, two brothers Clyde Robinson and Bernard Mears and one sister Geneva Lawton. Left to cherish her memories are her children Pastor Marcellous A. Buckner (Avis), Dr. Violet Smith (Sammie), and her baby and Pastor, Pastor JaDon O. Buckner. Brother , Willard Wilson.
