The November blood drive at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church brought in 59 blood donors and 59 pints of blood were collected.

During this event, Colleton County Blood Drive Coordinator Norma Lowery Weeks completed her 23rd gallon of blood donation. “After the last blood drive of the year I like to thank all those that make the blood drives possible,” said Weeks. “First, thanks to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church who so graciously opens their doors to us six times a year. We are so grateful to you,” she said.

“Next I want to thank the blood donors who make it all possible. Colleton County has the best blood donors you will find anywhere, and I have the highest regard for each one of them. Before each blood drive I say a little prayer that all blood donated that day will be a blessing to the ones receiving it,” Weeks said.

Together this year the donors at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church donated 317 pints of blood. According to the Red Cross that means Colleton blood donors may have saved as many as 951 lives. “And that is why we do what we do. Thank you, faithful donors,” Weeks added.

The Red Cross blood drive will be back on January 10, 2022, and January is the perfect time to become a donor. Make a resolution to give blood monthly.
