Lady Indians rally in second half to earn conference win

The University of South Carolina Salkehatchie Lady Indians trailed by 21 points at the half in Saturday’s Region X match-up against Southwest Virginia College. Not to despair, a strong second half on both sides of the ball lead the Lady Indians to a 97-88 home court win over their opponent. Salkehatchie is now 15-10 overall and sits at .500 (7-7) in Region X.

Leading scorer for the Lady Indians was Andre’sia Alexander with a career high 33 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds. Other scoring included Lashala Harvin 22 points, Anajae James 15 points, Nari Coe 11 points and LT LeShore 10 points.

Salkehatchie is scheduled to host Cape Fear Community College Wednesday Feb. 19 and Catawba Valley College Friday Feb. 21. The Lady Indians will begin competition in the Region X Tournament on Thursday March 5 in Martinsville, Va.
