Lady Indians off to 5-0 start

The USC-Salkehatchie Lady Indians are off to a 5-0 start on the season and remain undefeated (3-0) in NJCAA Division II Region X play. 

The Lady Indians defeated Denmark Tech 109-75 Tuesday, February 2 at home. Halle Davis scored 34 points. Antwanique Walley added 15 points and Kaia Simpson scored 12 points. 

On the road against Louisburg College on Saturday, February 6, the Lady Indians earned a 76-70 win. Mariah Igus led with 18 points on the boards. Simpson had 16 points and Andre’sia Alexander scored 14 points. 

Then, in a 142-38 home win over Fayetteville Tech College on Tuesday, February 16, Shayra Moree scored 31 points and Igus added 30 points. Walley had 26 points and Breah Keitt had 22 points. 

Against Denmark Tech on the road on Friday, February 19, the Lady Indians came away with a 122-74 win. Igus led with 42 points and Walley added 18 points. 

Former Colleton County Lady Cougar Basketball standout Omari Kirkland has figured prominently into the Lady Indian’s starting roster and has scored 27 points across five games.
